Profile Portrait Relief

In this two day workshop students will create a profile portrait in low relief. This class will include guided tours of the many profile reliefs created by Saint Gaudens that are exhibited at the park, taking a closer look at his technique and style. Students should arrive with a profile photo printed at half scale (~4in from chin to the top of the head) that will be used as a reference for the class. This class is available for all ability levels, but geared more towards students who already have foundational knowledge of facial proportion and anatomy. The class will be taught at the caretakers garage at the Saint Gaudens visitor center.
