The Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park opens for the season on Saturday, May 25, 2024

INFORMATION

In this workshop participants will draw from direct observation of a live model both indoors and outdoors with a mind towards studies for sculpture. The instruction will center around what information is necessary to create studies for use in the creative process of portrait sculpture. Emphasis will be on gesture, outline, silhouette, shadow and light. The workshop will consist of a short talk on the topic, a demonstration, and a constructive critique session involving the entire class.

Drawing materials will be provided. Participants may bring their own if preferred and should bring gear and clothing suitable for the weather and a water bottle.
