Augusta Homer Saint-Gaudens: Stepping Out of the Shadows

Augusta Fisher Homer Saint-Gaudens (1848-1926), the wife of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, has received little attention. In this exhibit she is brought out of the shadows through a display of her paintings (landscapes and portraits) and previously unseen photographs and documents. Augusta is revealed as a strongly independent person who pushed social boundaries. On the occasion of the centennial year of the Memorial, this exhibition also presents her vision to preserve her husband’s legacy through a vibrant organization that thrives today.

Curator’s talk and reception: Saturday, July 20, at 4:30 p.m.
